On the other hand, they are clean for users in terms of storage, transportation, and use, with no unpleasant gasoline smell, oil pollution, or waste gas; The second is safety. Gasoline, liquefied gas, and diesel are all flammable and explosive, and there are risks during operation. Electric outboard engines do not need to worry about such risks at all; Thirdly, the propulsion efficiency is high, and the output characteristics of low speed and high magnification are very suitable for ship propulsion; Fourthly, the usage cost is low, and the cost of daily charging is much lower than the cost of purchasing fuel. Lithium batteries are classified according to raw materials, mainly including lithium iron phosphate batteries, polymer lithium batteries, and ordinary lithium-ion batteries. According to cell packaging, they are mainly divided into three types: cylindrical steel shell lithium batteries, soft pack lithium batteries, and square aluminum shell lithium batteries

Lithium iron phosphate batteries have better performance than general energy storage lithium-ion batteries. They have high temperature resistance and the ability to discharge large currents at a certain rate. Ordinary lithium iron phosphate batteries have poor low-temperature performance, but improved lithium iron batteries have slightly better low-temperature performance than nickel hydrogen batteries and slightly worse than polymer lithium batteries, but their high-temperature performance will decrease. In terms of installation cost, lithium iron phosphate batteries are more expensive than nickel hydrogen batteries and lower than polymer lithium batteries. Therefore, most types of marine batteries currently used are lithium iron phosphate batteries, because using lithium iron batteries is more cost-effective in the same room temperature application.
 
Lithium iron phosphate batteries may vary in terms of performance and cycle life due to differences in production technology and materials used by manufacturers.
