Polymer lithium batteries have a cycle charge and discharge rate of over 1000 times higher than 18650 batteries, with no significant decrease in capacity. 18650 batteries can be charged and discharged more than 500 times, resulting in a capacity reduction of about 30%.


Polymer lithium batteries are coated with a layer of aluminum film on the outside, and then coated with high-strength adhesive tape. They will not explode, but may only cause air bubbles. In the worst case, they may cause combustion and fire. Therefore, compared to 18650, polymer batteries are still very flexible. Due to the special nature of the 18550 battery packaging (steel shell), it is easy to experience short circuits. If the quality of the produced product does not meet the standards, the major risk is explosion.
