What should be noted when using
forklift lithium batteries?
The advantages of lithium batteries for forklifts have been explained in previous articles, so I won't go into too much detail here. Interested students can click to view the "Three Major Advantages of Lithium Battery for Forklifts". Driven by the current environment (new energy vehicles), the attention to lithium batteries has been continuously increasing. Of course, there are also many controversies at present, and people are more concerned about safety issues. Some people say that lithium batteries are very dangerous! Is it really possible that it will explode during use? Let's analyze why lithium batteries have such safety hazards. After research, there are three main reasons: internal short circuit, external short circuit, and overcharging.
Internal short circuit: If there is an internal short circuit, the current of the forklift lithium battery will discharge, generating corresponding heat energy. This will increase the internal pressure of the forklift lithium battery. If the quality of the protective plate is not up to standard, there will be a danger.
External short circuit: This refers to the external part of the lithium battery cell. When designing a forklift lithium battery, if the internal insulation is not properly done, it can cause a short circuit. Of course, this is only a factor, and it may also be caused by incorrect operation. When a short circuit occurs externally, if the protective board fails to cut off the circuit in time, it can cause danger, and the process is the same as an internal short circuit.
Overcharging: Overcharging can cause changes in the internal structure. When the voltage is higher than 4.5V (depending on the condition of the battery pack, perhaps higher), the electrolyte will produce a lot of gas. If the protective board is not cut off in time, there is also a possibility of danger.
The safety hazards of forklift
lithium batteries are the above three points, which have been discovered by everyone. As long as the quality of the protective plate is qualified, the situation above can be avoided (or the probability of danger occurring can be greatly reduced). The quality of the protective plate is reflected in the supplier of forklift lithium batteries. The supplier has strength, but of course, there are tricks on the protective plate. After all, if there is a danger, it will damage the brand. For unscrupulous merchants, they will install unqualified protective plates on the battery pack for the sake of profit. Such forklift lithium batteries entering the market are a great safety hazard. Of course, this is determined by the overall quality of lithium batteries, as well as the usage standards: no exposure to sunlight, no need for external force to strike, and using the original charger for charging, all of which need to be strictly followed by users. Otherwise, even the best quality lithium batteries may be damaged.
