With the improvement of industrial automation, AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) cars have gradually become indispensable equipment in modern factories and warehouses. AGV cars have the characteristics of automated navigation and unmanned operation, which can replace manual material handling and warehousing operations. However, when using AGV cars, charging is an important component of their normal operation, so charging precautions are also particularly important. Below, we will introduce some precautions for AGV car charging from the aspects of safety, charging method, and reading status.

Safety precautions

1. Choose appropriate charging equipment: The charging equipment should be selected based on the battery type and voltage of the AGV car to ensure safety and charging efficiency.

2. Establish comprehensive safety protection measures: Set up obvious safety reminders around charging equipment to remind employees to pay attention to the presence of charging equipment. Meanwhile, in order to prevent overcharging and discharging of the battery, it is recommended to set up temperature and humidity monitoring measures in the charging area.

3. Prevent short circuits and fires: On charging devices, it is necessary to use wires and plugs that meet the requirements to ensure the quality of plug and unplug connections. When charging, avoid water, oil, or other easily conductive substances from coming into contact with the battery and charger.

4. Overload charging is prohibited: Choose the appropriate charging current based on the rated capacity and charging time of the battery to prevent overcharging.

5. It is strictly prohibited to charge indoors: Place the charging equipment in a well ventilated area and avoid charging in a closed environment to prevent gas accumulation and explosion.

Charging method precautions

1. Regular charging: Based on the frequency and working time of AGV cars, develop a reasonable charging plan, regularly charge the battery, and avoid self discharge caused by long-term idle.

2. Proper selection of charging time: After the AGV car finishes working, the appropriate charging time should be selected based on the usage on that day to ensure the safety and reliability of the charging process.
3. Avoid frequent charging: Frequent charging not only shortens battery life but also increases maintenance costs. Unless the battery level is too low, it is recommended to charge it only when the battery level drops to a certain percentage.

4. Control of margin during charging: During the charging process, it is generally recommended to set the charger to 90% of the charging capacity and set the charging cut-off voltage to avoid overcharging of the battery.

Notes on Reading Status
1. Monitoring charging current and battery level changes: During the charging process, it is necessary to regularly check the charging current and battery status, keep the charging current within a safe range, and promptly detect changes in battery performance and abnormal situations.
2. Timely handling of abnormal situations: Once abnormal situations are found in the charging device or battery, such as high battery temperature or long battery charging time, charging should be stopped immediately, and professional personnel should be promptly invited for maintenance and handling.

3. Record charging situation: After each charging is completed, relevant information such as charging equipment, battery type, charging time should be recorded for future reference, analysis, and optimization of the charging process.

Summary:

As an important equipment in modern factories and warehouses, the charging of AGV cars is the key to their normal operation. During the charging process, it is necessary to strictly follow safety regulations to ensure personnel safety and equipment reliability. Meanwhile, developing a reasonable charging plan and controlling charging methods can prolong battery life and reduce maintenance costs. Strengthening the monitoring and recording of charging status helps to timely detect and handle abnormal situations, ensuring the long-term stable operation of AGV cars.
