Lithium batteries are a type of battery that uses lithium metal or lithium alloy as the positive/negative electrode material and a non-aqueous electrolyte solution. The lithium metal battery was first proposed and studied by Gilbert N. Lewis in 1912. In the 1970s, M. S. Whittingham proposed and began researching lithium-ion batteries. Due to the highly reactive chemical properties of lithium metal, its processing, storage, and use require very high environmental standards. With the development of science and technology, lithium batteries have become mainstream.

1. Different battery capacities
The unit of battery capacity is basically AH or mAH, 1AH=1000mAH

In the case of all new batteries, the capacity of the battery cells can be divided using a capacity divider cabinet. Generally, the capacity of a power battery is around 1500mAh; And the capacity of ordinary batteries is above 2000mAh, some can reach 3500mAh, like Samsung 35E's 18650, which can achieve 3500mAh.

2. The discharge rate of battery cells is different, abbreviated as C
1C means it takes 1 hour to fully discharge or charge, while 2C means 0.5 hours.
Generally, lithium batteries can be divided into three levels based on their magnification. 3C and below are basically capacity models, which do not support fast charging and discharging. 3-8C are power type battery cells, mainly used in electric vehicles and industrial equipment. This type can basically meet the requirements of fast charging and discharging, but compared to rate type battery cells, it is insignificant. However, power type battery cells are currently the mainstream battery cells. Finally, there are rate type cells, which are generally above 10C, meaning that the discharge current can instantly reach 10 times the capacity. For example, a 2000mAh 10C rate cell can achieve a discharge current of 20A. Do you think it's easy to parallel several currents up to thousands of amperes.

3. Different application scenarios
Capacity type battery cells are used for devices that are mostly low current or in conditions where the working conditions are not so strict. The most common ones are solar street lights, energy storage, toy cars, and other devices that do not require current.

Power type battery cells are mainly used in equipment with current and working environment requirements, such as AGV handling vehicles, industrial equipment, tourism vehicles and other batteries that require high current to support equipment operation, but the current will not reach a particularly exaggerated level. The most common one here is the lithium battery of ordinary electric vehicles. There are many application scenarios.

Rate type battery cells are generally used in devices that require instantaneous high current, such as model aircraft, unmanned ships, drones, and trucks. These devices can easily reach a current of one to two thousand amperes, so rate type battery cells can be chosen.
