Analysis of Safety Testing for 18650 Lithium Battery Manufacturers.
1. Lithium battery overcharge detection
Lithium battery overcharge detection can choose between these two methods
The first method: Lithium batteries are charged with 3A current in an explosion-proof box under normal temperature conditions of 25 ℃. The test is stopped when the battery voltage reaches 5V or the charging time reaches 90 minutes.
The second method: Charge with a current of 9A, and stop the test immediately when the lithium battery voltage reaches 10V. Before reaching the voltage, if the battery did not explode or catch fire, it passed the overcharge detection of the lithium battery.
2. Lithium battery drop detection
Lithium ion batteries operate at 25 ℃. Free fall from a height of 1.5 meters onto a hard wooden board with a thickness of 20 millimeters. Each of the six sides of the battery drops once. If the battery does not explode, catch fire, or leak during the testing process, it will pass the test.
3. Lithium battery compression testing
Place the lithium battery in the squeeze battery testing device. Squeeze in the direction perpendicular to the lithium battery panel. The compression area is smaller than 20cm. During the testing process, no other phenomena such as battery case rupture, short circuit, explosion, fire, leakage, etc. occurred and passed the test.
4. Battery short circuit detection
Lithium ion batteries are stored in explosion-proof boxes at room temperature of 25 ℃. The positive and negative plates of the lithium battery are effectively short circuited to prevent a short circuit. The resistance during a short circuit should be less than 5 ohms. If the lithium battery did not explode or catch fire during this test, it can pass this test.
5. Over discharge of batteries
Place the battery at a constant temperature of 25 ℃. And take relevant protective measures. Discharge at a current of 1A until the battery voltage reaches 0V. Lithium batteries can pass the test as long as there is no explosion, fire, or leakage.
6. Lithium battery heating detection
Place the battery in a constant temperature box and keep the temperature inside at 60 ℃. Keep the time at 120 minutes. During the experiment, if the battery did not explode or catch fire, it passed this test.
Battery testing is essential, and a high-quality battery can undergo these tests. Make people feel more at ease and reassured when using it. Hengliang Energy strives to create safe and discharge batteries.
