A Brief Discussion on the Benefits of Polymer Lithium Batteries for Customized Lithium Battery Manufacturers.
Polymer lithium batteries generally refer to high polymer lithium batteries. The commonly used positive and negative materials for polymer lithium batteries are the same as those for liquid lithium iron phosphate. The positive materials are divided into lithium cobalt oxide batteries, lithium manganese oxide batteries, ternary materials, and lithium iron phosphate battery materials, while the negative materials are high-purity graphite. The basic working principles of rechargeable batteries are also based on the same foundation. The basic principle of polymer lithium batteries is the same as that of liquid lithium, with the main difference being that the electrolyte of lithium batteries is different from that of liquid lithium. The main structure of rechargeable batteries includes three factors: positive, negative, and electrolyte solution. Simply put, polymer lithium batteries refer to the use of polymer materials as the primary charging battery system software in at least one or more of the three main constructions. In the current development and design of polymer lithium battery system software, polymer materials are mainly used in positive and electrolyte solutions.
The benefits of polymer lithium batteries
The working voltage of a single rechargeable battery reaches 3.6V~3.8V, far exceeding the 1.2V working voltage of nickel hydrogen and nickel cadmium batteries.
2. The volumetric density is high, with a relative density of 1.5 to 2.5 times that of nickel hydrogen rechargeable batteries or nickel cadmium batteries, perhaps higher.
3. Lithium batteries have a short lifespan and their capacity is not easily discarded after prolonged storage.
4. Long lifespan, the lifespan of the circulation system can reach over 500 times for all normal applications.
5. No memory function, no need to empty the remaining power before charging the battery, convenient application.
6. Good safety function. The structure type of polymer lithium battery adopts plastic steel plastic flexible packaging, which is different from the plastic shell of liquid lithium battery cells. Once there is a safety risk, liquid lithium battery cells are very easy to cause engineering explosions, while polymer battery cells may have air bubbles at most.
7. Thin and thin, can be made thinner. Thin, rechargeable batteries can be assembled into overdraft cards. Generally, liquid lithium batteries adopt the method of customizing the casing first, and then inserting positive and negative materials. The thickness ensures that there is a professional skill gap below 3.6 millimeters, while polymer cells do not have this problem. The thickness can ensure that it is below millimeters, which meets the requirements of current mobile phones.
8. Lightweight, rechargeable batteries using high polymer electrolyte solutions do not require a metal shell as the outer packaging box for maintenance. Polymer lithium batteries have a net weight that is 40% lighter than aluminum shell lithium batteries with the same volume specification, and 20% lighter than aluminum shell rechargeable batteries.
9. With a large capacity, polymer lithium batteries have a battery capacity 10-15% higher than aluminum shell batteries with the same specifications, and 5-10% higher than aluminum shell rechargeable batteries. They have become the preferred choice for color screen phones and mobile MMS phones. Currently, most newly launched display screens and mobile MMS phones on the market also use polymer batteries.
10. Low internal resistance
The internal resistance of polymer battery cells is smaller than that of ordinary liquid lithium battery cells. Nowadays, the internal resistance of polymer battery cells in China can even guarantee below 35m Ω, greatly reducing the self consumption of rechargeable batteries and increasing the shutdown time on mobile phones. It can completely reach the level of international integration. High polymer lithium batteries with large charging and discharging currents are also an ideal choice for remote control models, becoming the most promising commodity to replace nickel hydrogen rechargeable batteries.
11. Customizable appearance
Manufacturers do not need to be limited to standardized appearance design and can economically produce suitable sizes. Polymer lithium batteries can add or reduce the thickness of lithium cells according to customer requirements. The developed types of lithium cells have low prices, short molding cycles, and some can even be customized according to the appearance of mobile phones to flexibly utilize the indoor space of the rechargeable battery case and increase battery capacity.
12. The overall planning of lithium battery protection board is simple
Due to the use of high polymer materials, lithium batteries do not ignite or explode, and have a satisfactory safety factor. Therefore, the overall planning of the maintenance route for polymer lithium batteries can consider eliminating PTC and fuses, thereby saving battery costs.
