The intuitive difference between polymer lithium batteries and 18650 lithium batteries in terms of battery cells is their appearance. Polymer lithium batteries are square in shape, with an aluminum-plastic film outer shell. They are a type of soft pack battery. The 18650 lithium battery is cylindrical in shape, with a steel shell and hard packaging. There are three types of electrolytes used in polymer lithium batteries, namely liquid, colloid, and solid. Different electrolytes have different advantages and disadvantages. The electrolyte used in 18650 lithium batteries is essentially liquid.

The application field of polymer lithium batteries in commercial products is much larger in depth and breadth than 18650 lithium batteries.
