AGV lithium batteries?
In the past two years, we have summarized the following points in our cooperation with numerous AGV small car customers, hoping to be helpful to everyone.
At present, the lithium batteries used for AGV cars mainly include ternary lithium batteries and lithium iron phosphate batteries. Here is a brief introduction to their differences: relatively speaking, the advantages of ternary materials are high monomer voltage, light weight, and good low-temperature performance, while their disadvantages are short cycle life and poor stability. The rated voltage of its individual unit is 3.6V, and the working voltage is 3.0V-4.2V. The advantage of lithium iron phosphate batteries lies in their high safety and long cycle life. The disadvantage is that the energy density is low and the entire battery pack is heavy. The rated voltage of its individual unit is 3.2V, and the working voltage is 2.5V-3.65V.
Therefore, when choosing AGV batteries, we can determine the battery specifications and models based on the battery's communication protocol, voltage, weight, ambient temperature, safety, and cycle life.
Communication protocol
At present, the communication protocols for
AGV car batteries mainly include RS485, RS232, and CAN. Select the BMS module of the battery based on the communication protocol.
Voltage
Here, the rated voltage and maximum voltage of the output terminal should be considered to determine the voltage and material of the lithium battery. The rated voltage of the battery should not be lower than the rated voltage of the motor. But the full charge voltage of the battery should not be higher than the highest voltage of the device. Therefore, sometimes it can be seen that the voltage of AGV batteries is a 12 series ternary lithium battery with a full charge voltage of 50.4V, rather than the commonly used 24V or 48V.
Electricity consumption
If the power consumption is high or the discharge is high-power, such as a lithium battery with a capacity exceeding 1.5 kilowatt hours, it is recommended to use iron lithium batteries when the weight and size can meet the requirements, because the safety of use needs to be considered.
Discharge power
If the discharge current is above 120A, it is also recommended to use iron lithium batteries.
Usage environment
If working in high temperature or harsh road conditions, lithium iron phosphate batteries can be used. Under extremely low temperature conditions, ternary lithium batteries can be used.
