How to extend the service life of forklift lithium batteries?

After studying dozens of academic papers and manufacturer manuals, a team at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor has compiled a series of best practices to protect the lifespan of lithium-ion batteries as long as possible.

There are three main suggestions:
1. Avoid exposure to high and low temperatures, especially during the charging process.
If your phone heats up on the charger, please remove it.
Additionally, avoid charging in extremely cold conditions.
Extreme temperatures may accelerate the aging of almost all battery components.

As a guide, do not charge if the temperature exceeds the range of 10-35 ° C.

2. I hate batteries that are too full or too little.
Ideally, do not let them charge more than 80% or discharge less than 20%, as any excess will put pressure on the lithium-ion battery and cause it to degrade.

If you need a fully charged battery, please continue to fully charge it. Once it reaches 100% charge, please immediately remove it from the charger.

3. If possible, avoid rapid charging and discharging.

Fast chargers may seem convenient, but high current charging will heat up faster and reduce battery performance compared to slow current charging.

The same applies to high discharge rates. Applications that consume a large amount of power can be harmful to your battery and shorten its lifespan.
Finally, avoid using or storing lithium-ion batteries in damp environments and avoid mechanical damage such as punctures.
