How to extend the lifespan of 18650 lithium batteries.


Lithium based batteries generally have a lifespan of 2-3 years. This time starts from the moment the battery is produced on the production line. Capacity loss is reflected in the increase of internal resistance caused by oxidation. In the end, the internal resistance of the battery will reach a peak where it cannot store electrical energy, and even long-term continuous charging will be useless.


In daily use, the following methods can be used to improve the lifespan of energy storage lithium battery manufacturers:
1、 Do not perform ultra long charging for more than 12 hours
For the "activation" issue of energy storage lithium battery manufacturers, there are many opinions that the charging time must exceed 12 hours and be repeated three times in order to activate the battery. The statement that 'the first three charges should be charged for more than 12 hours' is clearly a continuation of nickel batteries such as nickel cadmium and nickel hydrogen. So this statement can be said to have been a misconception from the beginning. It is best to charge according to standard time and methods, especially not to charge for more than 12 hours. Usually, the charging method described in the phone manual is the standard charging method suitable for the phone.

2、 Store the energy storage lithium battery manufacturer in a cool and shady place
The high charging state and increased temperature will accelerate the decrease in battery capacity. If possible, try to charge the battery to 40% and place it in a cool place. This can enable the battery's own protection circuit to operate for a long storage period. If the battery is placed at high temperature after being fully charged, it will cause great damage to the battery. Therefore, when we use a fixed power source, the battery is in a fully charged state and the temperature is generally between 25-30 ° C, which can damage the battery and cause its capacity to decrease. Do not expose the battery to high temperatures or extreme cold, such as during the dog days of summer, do not place the phone in the sun and expose it to the scorching sun; Or take it to an air-conditioned room and place it in a place where the air is blowing directly.

3、 Use a dedicated charger
Lithium ion batteries must use dedicated chargers, otherwise they may not reach saturation and affect their performance. After charging, avoid leaving the charger for more than 12 hours. When not in use for a long time, separate the battery from the phone.
