How do i charge a Marine Lithium Battery.
There are two methods to charge the battery in weather conditions. The first one is the traditional charging model. The second one is to use solar energy for charging.
Charge with a charger
It is very important to observe the battery before charging to ensure that it is in good condition. Also, carefully check if the battery connections are loose. The charging terminal should be free of corrosion.
Understand the type of battery you are charging. Ensure that there is no chance of water entering the charging room. Otherwise, it may permanently damage the battery.
Suitable chargers must be used to charge the battery. Usually, it is recommended to use a three-level charger to extend battery life
For lead-acid batteries, it is best to charge them at 20-15% of their total ampere hours. It will prevent any unexpected situations from occurring due to overcharging. So you can maintain low internal resistance.
If you are using AGM batteries, you must provide a higher charging current.
Additionally, please ensure that you do not run out of power while using other available equipment on board. Your charger should be able to cover all available devices on board.
When charging, you must connect the clip and then turn on the charger. According to the voltage level, the battery will be charged. It's time to connect now. Connect the black clip to the negative pole and the red clip to the positive pole.
To prevent sparks, please ensure that the clip is securely connected.
If you are using an AC charger for charging, make sure it is properly plugged into the socket. Otherwise, it will completely damage the entire electrical system of the ship.
